Site Manager
Meet Julie, The Block's site manager
Julie Stiewig brings a range of experiences to her work as the site manager of The Block, rooted in her background in food systems, land management, agriculture, outdoor education, and community building. Having lived and worked across Colorado, Vermont, and Wyoming, Julie has cultivated a deep appreciation for the land and the interconnectedness of people and nature.
Now based in Weldona, Julie and her partner operate Two Drifters Farm,
where they grow vegetables, cut flowers, and care for honeybees, ducks,
geese, and Black Angus cattle. Since 2021, she has served as the manager of
The Block, where she empowers local entrepreneurs and fosters a strong sense of community through food and small business support. Julie also co-hosts Food Truck
Fridays and founded the Fort Morgan Farmers Market at The Block, creating
reliable platforms for rural food businesses to connect with their community
and grow. Julie’s dedication extends to her involvement with the Food
Coalition of Morgan County, where she advocates for equitable food access
and works to strengthen local food systems, and the Morgan County Waste
Coalition which works with her co-founder to make recycling more accessible to a community currently without it.
Her passion for community connection and her commitment to building resilient food systems reflect her belief in the power of collaboration and the importance of uplifting others.
